The tax wedge for the average single worker in France increased by 0.4 percentage points from 46.6% in 2020 to 47.0% in 2021. The OECD average tax wedge in 2021 was 34.6% (2020, 34.6%). In 2021, France had the 4th highest tax wedge among the 38 OECD member countries, compared with 5th in 2020.
